CPA, CA, CFDS, ACA (UK)
Sharon is an accredited Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with many years experience in a range of different roles, both as a partner/manager in public practice, and in senior financial roles in industry and government entities. Sharon decided to move out of traditional public practice work to focus on helping people through separation and divorce. She is a Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist (CFDS), which, together with over 30 years experience as a professional accountant, gives her the unique skills and specialized training to provide the financial expertise necessary to inform and guide clients during this difficult stage of their lives.
Sharon is currently in the process of undergoing the required training to become a member of the Victoria Collaborative Family Separation Professionals (CFSP). The CFSP is a group of independent professionals, including counsellors, psychologists, social workers, accountants, chartered business valuators, certified financial planners, and lawyers, who have chosen and been trained to work together in the collaborative process.
Sharon is English born and bred and has retained both her accent and quirky English humour (not perceived as a common trait of the “traditional accountant”!). After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in the UK, she spent a short time working with the Serious Fraud Squad in London, which was enough to pique her interest and love of forensic accounting-type work. She moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where she lived and worked for 15 years, before relocating with her family to beautiful British Columbia in 2006.
Sharon is passionate about giving back to the community. For 8 years, she has been a proud member (and former committee member) of 100+ Women Who Care Victoria, a dedicated group of women who have raised over $800,000 for local charities. Sharon has nominated and spoken about charities close to her heart, including Need2 Suicide & Prevention and BC Cancer Foundation.
